By Eimear Rabbitte Third level students from a wide range of fields - print, online, broadcasting or media arts are encouraged to enter. Awards are available for a multiple of disciplines, for example; Journalist of the year, news photographer of the year, radio production of the year, sports writer of the year, TV production of the year and website of the year. In regards to the Newspaper of the year category for example, candidates must submit three issues of the newspaper published since April 1st, 2009. Martin McKenna of Trinity newspaper, Trinity News, scooped last years accolade. Students thinking of entering can choose from 32 distinct categories ranging from traditional print media to new media and creative arts. These will accompany a brand new category - Blog of the Year- conveying the changing times in terms of modern technology. The awards are organised by student website, Oxygen.ie and all details regarding the event as well as pre-registration can be found on the website.
